It is always fun to hang out with slvrdlphn. Yesterday, we watched the premier of X-Men Apocalypse. Not only did we get to enjoy a good movie, we got to try the new offering of Pizza Hut, who sponsored the event.
We were early for the event so the pizza served was very welcome. They were served to us by Pizza Hut staff cosplaying as characters from the movie. They told us they had their costumes made themselves. I liked how they really tried to carry out their roles, especially during photo ops.
If you haven’t tried it yet, do check out the new Blowout Pizza of Pizza Hut. It’s an 18″ pizza combining the following flavors: Hawaiian, Supreme, Roast Beef and Veggies, and Sausage and Bacon. Each order of Pizza Hut Blowout Pizza is packaged in one of four limited-edition X-Men collectible boxes. This pizza is only available until June 6, 2016.
As always, when you go to the cinema, do not expect that the movie will be EXACTLY like the source. Some changes were made to the story for various reasons by the team behind the production. So die hard X-men comic fans may say this or that is not canon but will not make the movie any less good.
For those who haven’t seen the trailer, expect the same cast from X-men Days of Future Past. Then insert Jean Gray and Cyclops. Nightcrawler, Angel, Storm and Psylocke are also present though only Nightcrawler is on the X-men’s side of the story here. Refusing to give spoilers so I will say no more.
I’d give this movie 4 out of 5 stars. The effects were good. There was a clear story running though it – though I wish it could have been more solid. There were funny moments and sad moments. I would watch it again but definitely not in the cinema.I’m okay with catching it on cable.
