The story centers on Bei Wei Wei, a Computer Science sophomore who is also an excellent gamer. She’s smart (a scholarship student) and beautiful too. They call her the Department beauty. In her favorite game, Dreaming of Jianghu, she is known as Luo Wei Wei or Reed We Wei. She’s the no. 6 player in her server.
She gets dumped by her online husband (Zhen Shaoxiang alias: Zhenshui Wuxiang), who shortly after marries the acclaimed beauty of their server (Yu Yao alias Xiaoyu Yaoyao). On the day of his wedding, Wei Wei creates quite a sensation; getting herself accused of plans of stealing the groom when in reality, she had stepped away from the computer. With a little creative thinking, she manages to get herself out of this predicament and make a little money on the side.
After the crowd disperses, she hears her name being called and sees the no. 1 player of their server, Yixiao Naihe, at the foot of the bridge. He asks her to marry him (in the game) so that they can participate in the upcoming competition for couples. Their partnership is excellent and Wei Wei finds herself falling for her online husband.
Eventually he asks to meet in person and she is surprised to discover that Yixiao Naihe is Xiao Nai, the most popular guy in the school. She’s had a crush for him for some time but never even thought she’d get a chance to meet him. Yup, she is absolutely smitten!
Turns out he knew who she was all along. Their online relationship becomes real and the story continues outside the game. (If I write anymore it will be a very long post so I’ll stop here and suggest you watch the series).
I still don’t know why the title was changed to Love O2O. I’m assuming it means online to offline but what do I know? This is a light, fun romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. Though it is a 30 episode series, it doesn’t feel long at all. It is definitely worth watching!
By the way, there is also a movie made from the same book. It’s okay but in my opinion the TV series is better.
